Never wears: Personality Father McBride, has he his know to most, is a charismatic person with a low rough voice, who's presence alone is often enough to cause an impact on those around him. He can be a man of few words but he always makes them count. He's sharp and doesn't hold back his mind, pointing out what he deems wrong or expressing his opinion. According to some people he can also have quite a bad temper. Lately though, he has been carrying an hidden burden, one it started by the time his beloved wife died. He started questioning many things, many persons and ideals and was left with too many unanswered questions burning inside him. He also knows Pleasant Port from within for a long time, being perhaps one of the most well informed persons in the city regarding its dirts and vices, though we would never reveal any of them.
He is also considered to be old fashioned regarding many issues, especially by the younger generations; curiously, his church superiors often talk about him with a resentment on his personality and irreverent approach to many situations and religious rites. Personal History Liam McBride was born in the states from an Irish descent family. His childhood was marked by some financial difficulties of his parents and his reluctance in continuing his studies in school, leading him to start working at an early age. By the time the Vietnam war escalated Liam enrolled in the army, partially to help out his country but, mostly, to escape the monotony of his life and some of his growing mistakes: He'd started to develop an addiction to drink and, unknown to him at the time he shipped away, he'd also left an offspring to his girlfriend, a colored girl his parents had never accepted with good eyes. War changed him. War always changes people, for better or worse. For McBride it was a hallucinating ride of experiences. First the GI Joe euphoria of being invincible, then the despair of seeing his comrades dying by the dozens, the fear of capture and torture, then the revenge spilling out on innocent life's and then come the questioning and dissentment. Three things remained from his tour of duty: regrets, maturity and a second child from a Vietnamese prostitute. Returning home was a shock, as to so many soldiers. Liam however managed to forge his feeling of misfit in to willpower to change, to change him and the world around. He had started straighting his life still back in 'Nam and he continued when he returned, only with added stamina. He found a low-paid job and strive in it. He found a decent respectful woman, married her and together had an hand-full of children, raised in a nurturing yet disciplined home. He started to attend church again, to read the Holy Word and teach it, first to his sons and daughters, then he even started talking about it to his co-workers, in the hope to produce some change in some of them.
From there on it was only a couple of years until he decided to make a leap of faith and embrace fully his faith. He enrolled on a seminary and after some time he was incardinated in the American Roman Catholic Church, becoming a priest under a special dispensation over his marriage, being allowed to retain his matrimonial vows.
Currently he lives together with two of his daughters; the youngest one, striving to finish her studies to enroll on university, and the child from his first love, whom McBride made sure to support financial ever since he returned from Vietnam, even though her mother had married another man.
