Meredith's history begins at age four, after her parents were killed in a car crash. From that point her older siblings took care of her for the most part, while her other brothers Tim and Gavin had moved from home. With the absence of her actual parents, Meredith had a tendency to isolate herself away from the rest of the family and she didn't mind being the odd one out at first.

She longed for a close family and they just weren't so she eventually gave up on such hopes. School was a time she used to help find herself; It was hell but at the same time gave her what she thought to be some clarity. In 8th grade, she had got her first boyfriend, after the discovery of make-up and pretty clothes and the normal trends. He was a lot older than her, but she thought that was a good thing until she had her first encounter with sex. This has been Meredith's secret and hers alone, and it's something she's repressed. After that "fling" quickly ended, she went throughout high school moving into one meaningless relationship after another.

In 11th grade she was dragged into this experimental thing with one of her close friends where they gave the 'best friends with benefits' a try. She got over what was called a mere stage, while Meredith didn't. In that time was her first small sting of heartbreak. Meanwhile, things at home didn't seem to get any better for her. She didn't complain at all nor did she want to act as if the death of her parents caused her depression. She felt lonely a lot of the time, pressured by Angela, an obligation to Paul and envious of Tim for his bravery and Gavin for his happily forming life. But it wasn't her to wear a constant frown and drag others into her own issues so none of them were aware to her knowledge.

After graduating, Meredith struggled with the career choices she wanted to make. She wanted to be a lot of things, but her negative attitude limited her own potential, which Angela obviously knew as they argued about it constantly until she made the final decision to keep things simple. Her action led her to become a nurse, and though she likes being a part of something that helps people, she sometimes feels as if she were meant for than that. But it's too late to worry about stuff like that now.

Meredith is a very simple person to get along with. She feels that it is best to not start anything with anybody, if it can be avoided. It makes it hard for people to understand what she ~really~ wants, for herself, because she always does her best to make everybody happy (all the people she cares about anyway) even if that means lying or hiding something about herself or inner thoughts. It's not very often she snaps and speaks her mind, and makes her voice heard.

She's dealt with a lot of peoples crap in her lifetime, mostly around the time she first came out, and this kind of shaped that part of her personality that usually keeps quiet, minding her own business and not getting too personal hardly ever. Most of the time, in order to find things out about her, you'll have to observe her actions, and normally, Meredith will let you find everything out on you're own feeling that people accept her better that way.

With an open-mind and mellow sense of humor, Meredith has suppressed and kept quiet about a lot of what makes her angry, sad, etc...and she gets over it in the best way she possibly can. Her very subtle negative attitude towards life makes it difficult for her to get into a relationship or even start a friendship.
