Personality
Rosa is somewhat introverted, not necessarily out of dislike or anti-social tendencies. She knows so very much about the very personal lives of many residents of Pleasant Port and over the years has grown quiet to keep the confidence of her patients, past, present, and future. Her husband Ernest arranges their social life so Rosa will not isolate herself, which she sometimes tends to do. Her sense of humor is dry and ironic. Rosa sincerely cares for her patients as if they were her own family and genuinely seeks to help people.

Rosa does not often talk about her own problems as it is awkward for her to let anyone see her as vulnerable. Her family, friends, and patients view her as a strong, somewhat untouchable woman, so she tends to bury her own feelings to keep up appearances.


Personal History
Rosa is the daughter of Ingrid Jeck and Joseph LaCuira. She is of Austrian and Italian descent. Both of her parents were strict Roman Catholics and they were very strict with all their daughters. Somehow during this process Rosa became embittered toward the church and all religion. Her sisters were not affected this way. Rosa will not discuss with anyone why she feels this way.

Her sisters Gretchen and Maria do not live in Pleasant Port. Gretchen is in Texas and Maria is in Ohio. Gretchen is divorced with 2 grown daughters and Maria is a widow with 2 grown sons.

After graduating from the local high school, Rosa went away to college. There she met Ernest, her soulmate. They married soon after meeting and the arrival of Emily came just ten months after they married. Both were still at college.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 8am to 12 noon then 2pm till 5. Off on Wednesdays. Friday schedule is 8 am til 12 noon.

Family Background
Rosa is the daughter of Ingrid Jeck and Joseph Fontenella, which gives her her Austrian and Italian background. Rosa has two sisters who are now living in other States. Gretchen lives in Texas and Maria lives in Ohio. They are on good terms with each other but not real close. Maria and Gretchen are only a year apart in age and Rosa was the baby of the family arriving five years later. Maria is a widow now and Gretchen is divorced. Both of the sisters have grown children but Rosa is not particularly close to them either, as she rarely sees them.

Rosa's parents were strict Catholics and somehow Rosa became embittered toward all religion, leaving the church and anything to do with religion when she entered college. There she met Ernest her husband who shared her views.


Relationships with other Characters

Her husband Ernest| They only dated a very short time and then married. Soon after that Emily was born. Ernest's parents financially carried them along until both were finished college. By then Robert was born. They lived in an apartment in town and later bought a very nice home on Salem Road.

Rosa has worked since they arrived back in Pleasant Port. First for the school district as a counselor and later opened her own practice for psychology. His practice is not doing too well. Because of her job and her patients, and almost all of the residents have been patients at one time or another either because they had personal problems or she had interviews with them for job placements and evaluations for disability, and many other things, she knows just about everything there is to know about most families here in town. Her lips are sealed and she never discusses her patients, just as the local priest never reveals anyone's confessions.

Rosa is very close to her children, especially Robert.
